My main job is being a husband and father first and foremost. However, when I’m not attending to family business you can typically find me either hiking, biking or flying an airplane.

I first started flying in 2004 and it was love at first flight. I loved it so much that I moved the family from Richmond, Virginia to Tulsa, Oklahoma just so I could attend Spartan College of Aeronautics to earn my wings. I quickly became a licensed commercial pilot and was seeking any and all flight hours I could get. I competed with Spartan’s NIFA team. I joined the Civil Air Patrol. But the majority of my flight hours came from ferrying aircraft with a friend who has been a ferry pilot for over 30 years.

After a while my friend started passing the flights he was too busy for off to me and that’s how I became a freelance ferry pilot. I now meet the typical insurance requirements (the major bar to hurdle for flying as a ferry pilot) in over 20 different makes and models of airplanes. I fly anything from the small, two-seat, single-engine airplanes up to mid-sized piston twins.

I love the work and it’s always an adventure. Enjoy my blog and please feel free to contribute to the conversation.
